Creative Charity
May 2013

Creative Support is a charitable organisation which assists homeless or vulnerable people when they first get a place to live independently.
Furness Mark Lodge Charity Steward Bob Morrish accompanied Provincial Charity Steward Alan Jones to the Barrow office of Creative Support where they presented Sasha Waldron, a senior support worker, with a cheque for £500 from the West Lancashire Mark charity. The money is to be used to pay for starter packs which provide basic items when the client takes up their new residence.

Sasha commented, “Our referrals come from the Supporting People team at Cumbria County Council Adult Social Care. When there are no benefits or other means for the client to start their independent living we provide them with the basics in food and some household goods. The generous donation from the Mark Masons is very welcome and will help us provide ten starter packs.”

Bob added, “Creative Support do great work with some of the most vulnerable people in the least affluent areas of Barrow.  To have a place to live is a big step for them and to find that their basic needs are initially catered for must make it feel more like a home.”
